Centre To Ban Chinese Betting Apps Ahead Of Asia Cup
The tension between China and India continues to grow. The central government is planning to tighten the noose on Chinese gaming and betting apps one more time. According to a report by Zee Business, this consideration came after the increased activity by the banned entities operating under pseudonyms. The Indian government has already blocked a number of Chinese Apps including Shein, TikTok and PUBG and has added more to the list over time citing security concerns.
The Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) took the matter under its cognisance and in a letter to the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology said that the host of illegal apps have resumed operation using similar or changed names or changes in language. CCPA is a government body which aims to protect, promote and enforce the rights of consumers in the country.
According to the media portal, the government has also contacted social media platforms including Meta and X, formerly called Twitter, regarding the issue and questioned for hosting the banned apps on their platforms. The report suggests that the Centre also directed them to use AI-driven solutions to remove such ads that are put in place through banned apps from their platform.
This move by CCPA came after the Information and Broadcasting Ministry advised media houses from running direct or indirect ads about the likes of gambling and sports betting ahead of the Asia Cricket Cup tournament.
Earlier, the government advised the media houses, including advertisement intermediaries and social media platforms, to refrain from running ads and promotional content on betting or gambling in any form and also warned all stakeholders of appropriate action in case of failure to comply.
The ministry also mentioned that black money is likely to be involved in gambling and betting advertisements, triggering a spike observed around major sports events.
Asia Cup will start on August 30 and conclude on September 17. The ICC World Cup, scheduled in October-November, is expected to attract the highest bets from India.

It was a new experience for me, but yeah all the coaches and the NRI staff helped me a lot. They helped me to deal with the pressure. There is like team psychologist and a high-performance manager. There were strategies and drills, and we did well enough to be prepared for it.

Undoubtedly, this trend has not just helped the men learn some aesthetics; it has also helped them gain confidence.
Here are some TikTok users who shared these impressive before-and-after videos on the platform, which have garnered huge traction.

At the same time, while this ‘girlfriend effect' sounds like a win-win, it has its downsides too. As quoted by Lad bible, some TikTokers have expressed concerns about depersonalizing men's wardrobes.
In a viral video about the same, a TikTok user explained that women unintentionally risked ‘overhauling their boyfriends and completely redesigning them'. If this woman is helping him find a more tasteful way of executing his personal style, that's one thing. But a lot of women are not doing that.”
“They are just purely telling their boyfriends what to wear and getting rid of any sort of personal style that these boys have accumulated for themselves,” they added.
Meanwhile, a pretty disheartening trend called ‘boyfriend air' is also making waves on the internet, in which women share their transformation story with their past photos as they spend more time with their partners and spend less time on self-care.
What are your views on this ‘girlfriend effect'?

Anant Chaturdashi 2023
The nation is currently immersed in seeking blessings of Ganpati Bappa, as the ten-day long Ganesh Chaturthi festivities are going on in different states. The Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations, which started on September 19, will come to an end on September 28, on the day of Anant Chaturdashi. Ganesh Visarjan or the immersion of idols is held on Anath Chaturdashi day.
Anant Chaturdsashi is dedicated to ‘Anant' or the infinitive form of Lord Vishnu. Devotees of Lord Vishnu observe a day-long fast and tie sacred threads during puja. It is believed that this sacred thread protects devotees from all sorts of trouble.
Worshipping Lord Vishnu on the day of Anant Chaturdashi brings immense prosperity, happiness, and blessings into one's life. To achieve success and a prosperous life by worshipping Lord Vishnu on this auspicious day, consider implementing these effective tips suggested by Bhopal-based astrologer and Vastu consultant, Pandit Hitendra Kumar Sharma.
Here are the few rituals to be followed on Anant Chaturdashi as suggested by Pandit Sharma:
1. After worshipping Lord Vishnu on Anant Chaturdashi, one should tie a silk thread on their arms. The thread should have 14 knots. It is known as Anant Sutra or Raksha Sutra.
2. As per religious beliefs, worshipping Lord Vishnu appropriately and tying a thread on the arm increases self-confidence and protects the devotees from all troubles.
3. Pandit Sharma also highlighted the importance and benefits of worshipping the Satyanarayan form of Lord Vishnu on the day of Anant Chaturdashi. He suggests that this act can fill your life with pure joy and contentment.
4. Worshiping Lord Satyanarayan on this day removes Vastu dosh from your house and fights off all the negative energies. This results in a more peaceful environment in the house and also brings prosperity to home.
5. It is recommended that on the day of Anant Chaturdashi, 14 nutmegs should be immersed in a holy river. This boosts the flow of positive energy and keeps negativity at bay.
6. Take fourteen cloves and camphor and burn them together to ensure an increase in wealth, happiness, and prosperity and to eliminate negative energy.

Team Falcons Chief Tells Us What Goes On Behind Preparing For Major Esports Tournaments Updated 3 minutes ago
Esports, at large, has grown exponentially as a field—from being part of the Asian Games to warranting multi-million-dollar prize pools in events like Gamers8. However, while a career in it looks glamorous from the outside (which it is), it demands strict commitment from the players themselves. They follow strict schedules, have to stay away from family and friends for prolonged periods of time, and most importantly, follow a training routine—just like a sports athlete does.
So, to clear up some of the most common misconceptions about esports and what goes into performing at one's best, we got in touch with Mossad ‘McDossary' Al Dossary, the co-founder and Chairman of Falcons esports.
News18 Tech: So, tell us, what does an esports player go through while preparing for a major esports event like Gamers8 and the Asian Games?
People and fans usually have high expectations of esports players, so it's not very easy for the players. However, it depends on the experience of every player, and the right people must be behind the players of the team—from managers to the coach and even the players' circle itself.
News18 Tech: How many hours do these players put in? Let's say, preparing for games like Rocket League or Fortnite.
Rocket League was the last game this year at Gamers8, and the Team Falcons spent weeks away from home. And, every day, practiced for five to six hours. So, the players go through a lot, and of course, they want to do more and more.
They practice for 5-6 hours, and sometimes it can't even go beyond that. So yes, it takes a lot of effort on the players' part to prepare for major tournaments.
News18 Tech: There is a common misconception that esports is not as physically demanding as traditional sports. Do you believe this to be untrue?
I think it's untrue, and anyone who has been a part of the esports industry knows how it is.
News18Tech: With regards to India, what are your thoughts on the up-and-coming gaming and esports creators in the country?
I think we want a part of India in Team Falcons, and we want to see the opportunities that exist in the country, especially with the sheer number of people interested in esports and gaming. We certainly want to do more, and we are keen to help the budding talent that exists in the country.
